Simultaneous Trial of the CAPI Podes 2024 BPS Application Throughout Indonesia

Village Potential Data Collection (Podes) is the only complete regional data collection carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Through Podes Data Collection, it is hoped that data can be obtained that can describe the potential of an area at the village, sub-district and district/city levels throughout Indonesia.

Podes data collection has been carried out several times and is usually carried out in preparation for the Census. Podes are used for census preparations (one of which is SE 2026) and are used by many parties in the context of development planning.

Podes data collection was last carried out in 2021 in the preparation stage for the Agricultural Census (ST2023) using the CAPI enumeration mode and the Fasih application. In preparation for the 2026 Economic Census (SE), BPS is again holding the 2024 Podes Data Collection which is planned to be carried out in May 2024.

To anticipate and inventory various problems that are expected to arise and prepare applications and software to support the implementation of the 2024 Podes data collection, on January 3 and 4 2024, BPS districts/cities throughout Indonesia simultaneously with instructions and direction from BPS RI carried out the CAPI Podes Application Trial activities 2024. This activity was carried out with the aim of conducting a stress test on the FASIH Podes 2024 application that had been built and asking for input on improvements to the stress test results and existing problems so that the 2024 Podes activities could run well.

At BPS Kuningan Regency, the CAPI Application Trial activity was attended by two Organic Employees, namely Mr. Maman Sukmana, S.IP from the Social Statistics function and Mr. Budi Setia Budi, S.IP. from the IPDS Function. Before carrying out the trial directly on officers' gadgets on January 5 2024, for 2 days, namely January 3 and 4, trial officers received an online briefing and refreshing about using the CAPI application and reviewed several problems regarding previous Podes data collection.
