Sakernas Regional Instructor Candidate Training 2024 of BPS-Statistics of Kuningan Regency

Unemployment is a serious problem that is certain and has been experienced by any country, whether it is developed or developing, especially those that are still underdeveloped. The number of unemployed increases along with the increase in population in an area. The high unemployment rate not only causes problems in the economic sector, but also causes various problems in the social sector such as poverty and social insecurity.

In Indonesia, the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) organized by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), is carried out twice a year (semesterly), namely in February and August throughout Indonesia. In relation to unemployment, Sakernas is specifically designed to collect employment data including unemployment data in Indonesia.

Data and information collected through Sakernas was carried out by direct interviews with selected sample households. Data collected in the Sakernas survey includes school participation, training/courses, disability, work activities in the last week, main job, informal workers, job search activities/preparing for a new business, work experience, pre-employment card program, as well as several other data related to employment.

For the implementation of the 2024 Sakernas, especially the February Sakernas, the Head of BPS Kuningan Regency, Mrs. Irna Afrianti, S.Sc., M.E has given tasks to three of her employees, namely Mr. Arya Marhaendra, S.Sos and Mr. Maman Sukmana, S.IP from Function Social Statistics and Mr. Andrianto, S.Si from the IPDS function to take part in the Regional Instructor (Inda) Sakernas February 2024 training activities.

Training activities will be carried out starting Friday, January 12 2024 using the Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) method on the BPS RI Learning Management System (LMS) followed by a distance learning system (PJJ) using Zoom Meeting media, began on January 15th and will be finished at January 18th 2024.

The Inda Training Participants will later be given the task of delivering material, definition concepts and procedures for the February 2023 national sakerna enumeration to prospective field officers, both field enumerators and supervisory/examiner officers. It is hoped that in the future there will be a uniform understanding of the concepts and definitions used when carrying out enumeration and supervision of national sakernas.

Understanding the concept of employment is very important to be able to identify residents who are included in the labor force, non-labor force, employed or unemployed groups. Referring to the International Labor Organization (ILO), BPS determines the employment concept used in Sakernas.
